About Michelle C. Hillstrom

MICHELLE AND MUTTLEY ON HIKEWriting is my passion! I have been telling stories since I could talk and began writing them down as soon as I learned how. It has been my dream to be a published author. The first story that I remember writing was a short story. I had to have been in first or second grade. The story was about kings, queens, and hills covered with emeralds and rubies. It was called “If I Ruled the World.” What can I say… It was the age of fairy-tales.

The summer before seventh grade was when I realized that I really wanted to be a published writer. My cousin, Laura, and I were playing with our American Girl Dolls and discussing the trip that we were about to take to Europe with our grandmother. We decided to write down the story that we had created with our dolls. We spent about a year sending the story back and forth to each other in an attempt to finish it. I knew then as this story began to unfold before me that I wanted to write books one day. I have been putting my stories to paper (or to the computer screen) ever since.

My work experience ranges from military, to bartender, medical to landscaping, event planning to social media consultant. I pretty much can say that I have been there done that to just about every job out there.

Hobbies other than writing include reading, dancing, cooking, baking, hiking, and working out. I love to travel, learn new things, go to college football games, and spend time with my family. When my family all gets together we really enjoy playing board and card games.
I am interested in anything related to religion or the supernatural. I love romantic novels, romantic movies, and romantic dates. I’m a huge history buff and some days I will just spend all day on the couch watching history channel specials on Netflix. I love all animals, excluding rodents, reptiles, and amphibians. My dog, Muttley Crue, who is a German Shepherd/Pit Bull/ Mastiff Mix, is a spoiled baby.

I was born and raised in Texas and still live in the best state! Texas and the Southern states of the US play a large roll in many of my stories. I’m a huge fan of Texas Tech Football and their greatest export: Patrick Mahomes.

In September 2014 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis. The disease has limited some of my physical abilities, but I still embrace life and try to live each day to the fullest. I’m also a Fibromyalgia, PCOS, anxiety, depression, and PTSD chronic-illness-warrior.

The development of my first published book “The Faithful Kiss,” all began with an image in my head. I saw a dark haired college boy walking down the steps outside of a chapel as he and his friends laughed and joked together. From the parking lot a blonde girl admired him. The girl and guy’s eyes locked as they became hypnotized by each other. From this picture I wrote the first paragraph of Chapter One and the words began to flow from there.
